It's a CAKE kinda day!

Today I had two cakes to do that I was very happy with so I thought I'd share them.

First was a Mickey Mouse inspired first birthday cake, two tiers, done in buttercream with some fondant accents. Love the colors on this one. Just piped the little Mickey heads on, and the diamonds are fondant as well as the big Mickey head.


Then there was my first Whimsy cake. Watched a little SugarEd Productions action on the DVD, got a little pep talk, and away we went. Came out pretty cute, now I wanna try doing one in just buttercream, no fondant covering....b/c at heart I'm a buttercream girl. This cutie girl was very specific about wanting pink and black, and zebra a bow and polka dots! She was VERY happy with her cake, which makes me happy!
